The Llanfairfechan Town Council is responsible for addressing the specific needs and interests of our local community. This may include managing/helping to manage 'place based' amenities such as parks, playgrounds, and community gardens, as well as organising town events and supporting local groups and initiatives. The Town Council plays a crucial role in representing the residents of Llanfairfechan on matters affecting the town, ensuring that local voices are heard in broader discussions. Additionally, the council handles minor maintenance tasks, such as the upkeep of footpaths and small-scale beautification projects, contributing to the overall quality of life in our town.
Town Council cannot block building planning secisions in the town, but can send in observations based on sonsultation and researdch to Conwy Councty Brorugh Council. Therefore, the town council plays a crucial role in representing the residents aof Llanfairfechan on matters affecting the town, ensuring that local voices are heard in broarder discussion.
On the other hand, Conwy County Borough Council has a broader scope of responsibilities that cover the entire county, including Llanfairfechan. This council manages significant public services such as education, transportation, social services, and waste management. They are also in charge of county-wide infrastructure projects, housing, and strategic planning. The County Council ensures that essential services are delivered efficiently across all towns and communities within the county, working on larger-scale projects and policies that impact a wider area. By working together, both councils strive to enhance the wellbeing and development of Llanfairfechan and its residents.
Every year the Town Council provides an easy-to-read summary of our activity, spending and achievements of the past year. Please find our latest report here:

Town Clerk - Jayne Neal
jayne@llanfairfechan.net
I am a communitarian through and through and passionate about protecting services and improving opportunities for the residents of Llanfairfechan. Following a 25 year long career in various public service roles in York and across North Wales, I have served as Town Clerk for Llanfairfechan for the last 6 years. It is a pleasure to be working in my own community and very rewarding to support a group of volunteer elected members who have the interests of the whole of Llanfairfechan at heart. You can often find me in the office at the Community Town Hall and at events. My role is to help with the general administration of services in Llanfairfechan and facilitate decisions made at town council meetings. As such, I am often in the know with what’s going on in Llanfairfechan. If you’ve got a question or query, feel free to drop me an email or pop in to see me!
Environmental Officer - James Griffiths
Hi I'm James. I've lived in Llanfairfechan all my life. I started working for the Town Council back in January 2015. I've always been the Environmental Officer, but my role has changed over the years as I've expanded my skills and abilities. I love being able to work in my own community, it brings me a lot of joy. My role is vary varied and it includes: an early morning litter pick in different areas each day, working closely with town council and Conwy CBC colleagues to keep the streets and the verges tidy and safe for use, I also work with Llanfairfechan community hall committee members to clean and maintain the hall. You'll also find me at most events in a high-vis jacket to provide you with any assistance needed.
Deputy Town Clerk - Callum Morrison
eventsprojectofficer@llanfairfechantowncouncil.co.uk
I'm Callum, you'll probably recognise me by my long ginger hair! I moved to Llanfairfechan in 2020 and immediately fell in love with the place. My life has taken me travelling around the world and the one thing I found was that those who have a strongest community are often the richest in life. Llanfairfechan stood out to me as a place with a strong and active community. I wanted to get immersed and put my skills to good use where I could. I was offered to join the Town Council team in March 2024 as Events Project Officer with the role of planning and running events and markets throughout the year and improving communication between council and residents. I've been lucky enough to be chosen as the Deputy Town Clerk, expanding my role to have additional responsibilities of helping to managing services, finances, and general administration.
