All grant giving by Llanfairfechan Town Council is governed by Local Government Act 1972 legislation
The Town Council is not automatically awarded money each year. We must create and agree upon an estimated spending budget. This budget helps pay for things like maintaining parks, running community events, and providing support for local initiatives. The Town Council has minimal income from its own activities (such as the Artisan Markets etc.) and generally this income is not enough to cover much of the Town Council’s costs.
The majority of income comes from the government, and we are required to provide a ‘Precept Request’. This Precept Request is given to the Conwy County Borough Council who need to agree it with Welsh Government. The precept is collected as part of your council tax bill and can be seen on your yearly statement.
Agreed Budget Breakdown 2024/25
Regulation 15(5) of the Accounts and Audit (Wales) Regulations 2014 (as amended) requires that by 30 September 2022, Llanfairfechan Town Council publish its accounting statements for the year ended 31 March 2022 together with any certificate, opinion, or report issued, given or made by the Auditor General.
